Aude for Slack App Permissions

The Aude for Slack app requires certain permissions within your Slack workspace to function properly and provide performance insights. These permissions allow Aude to access and analyze relevant data while ensuring the security and privacy of your information. The following permissions are necessary for the Aude for Slack app:

  1. View messages and content in channels and conversations: This permission allows Aude to read and analyze data from all channels in your workspace, including public channels, private channels, direct messages, and group direct messages. Aude is added to all channels at the time of installation. Aude uses this data to generate performance metrics, identify trends, and provide insights into individual and team communication patterns. The app does not modify or delete any messages.

  2. View channel information: Aude needs access to information about all channels in your workspace. This helps Aude understand the structure of your workspace and provides context-aware insights. It includes channel names, purposes, and member counts for both public and private channels.

  3. View workspace information: This permission enables Aude to access general information about your Slack workspace, including the workspace name, email domain, and icon. It also allows Aude to view information about ongoing and past calls. This data helps Aude provide a more comprehensive analysis of workspace activity and engagement.

  4. View user profiles: Aude requires access to profile details about people in your workspace to properly attribute actions and metrics to the correct individuals. This includes user names, email addresses, and profile pictures. Aude does not access or store sensitive personal information beyond what is visible in Slack profiles.

  5. Perform actions in channels and conversations: To provide interactive features and respond to user queries, Aude needs permission to send messages in all channels. This allows Aude to deliver insights directly within Slack and facilitate performance-related discussions across the workspace.

  6. Manage public channels: This permission allows Aude to manage existing public channels and create new ones if needed. This functionality can organize performance-related discussions or create automated report channels.
